Hello!

I'm Debs, and you've found
my little corner of the internet

I am a happily married mum of three. Our house is home to myself, my husband, three children and a huge variety of special educational needs and disabilities (ranging from severe visual impairment to autism, from speech and communication issues to dyspraxia and from osteoarthritis to vertigo) and it's also home to one very very nutty dog.

Life is never ever dull!

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, please
feel free to leave your comments and thoughts.

My youngest has just taken the Governments skills and careers online test as part of a school project.

You may remember it suggested that I, an overweight middle aged woman, should consider being a sport professional. However, we’ve managed to go one better.

It suggested my son should consider a career as an airline pilot.

For those who don’t know, he is totally blind (or severely visually impaired, if we’re being politically correct).

Now, I’m all for having expectations and aspirations, we love a challenge; but as being a pilot requires 20/20 vision, I’m thinking this is a challenge we may give a miss.

Oh wow... This made me laugh, but at the same time tragic to think of the time and money wasted by the government on setting up that online test 🤦🏻‍♀️x

Exciting times! I have been working on this, a fantastic new online course, for months.

After months of notetaking, trialling ideas, profanities when software didn’t quite work in the way I hoped and many late nights, we’re almost there. A few more tweaks and this will be available to buy.

It brings together 10 years of coaching experience, along with 16 years of personal experience of having to get back up and fight another day as a mum of three children with SEND.

One very sad dog. One person in the family who has loved having everyone home for lockdown. He’s cried as they went to school and has now sat himself on the sofa looking totally dejected.
He’s such a pack animal, never happier than when his pack are all with him. Going to be a chaotic moment when they start arriving back this afternoon.

Yours are returning today? Here in Essex it won’t be until next week. Yes I agree. All those months looking after the pack. I always feel for family dogs.
