Hello!

I'm Debs, and you've found
my little corner of the internet

I am a happily married mum of three. Our house is home to myself, my husband, three children and a huge variety of special educational needs and disabilities (ranging from severe visual impairment to autism, from speech and communication issues to dyspraxia and from osteoarthritis to vertigo) and it's also home to one very very nutty dog.

Life is never ever dull!

Failure, then success

Fear of Failure Why are we so afraid of failure? Failure means different things to different people; due to our upbringing, beliefs, values and obviously the standards we set for ourselves. Not very exciting is it? A line of washing. BUT here’s the thing, I’ve always had a rotary line but with the work we’re doing in the garden, I decided I didn’t like it so this weekend we removed it and put up two old school washing lines (that can be removed when not in use).
I need to buy a few props but I’m so happy seeing this, it’s surely a sign of middle age 🤣

I love a long line! It dries so much quicker too! 🥰

I only have two long lines now, so much for getting washing dried quickly xx

A solid 6 hours sleep last night combined with a drop in temperature this morning made being part of the “wide awake at 4.30am club” less challenging.

It’s light out so I’ve had chance to check on all my veggies and can confirm Alan Titchmarsh would be very happy with his new student.

The drop in temperature may also help me get some steps in today. The heat and humidity this week have led to me melting on the sofa or outside in the shade. So today is about getting some activity and getting organised for the week ahead. What about you?

Here’s how a cup of tea should be made - not that monstrosity made by some American woman in the video doing the rounds a few weeks ago.

As for how she made English eggs, please God clear that memory from my mind.

British military gives lesson in tea making after US mum's viral video
Karen Pierce, the UK's ambassador to the US, has enlisted the help of the British military after an American woman's tea-making technique caused a national uproar. Michelle, an American mother-of-three who lives in the UK, went viral after posting a video of herself making a cup of tea in a very unu...

Let’s talk about phones and desktops. How organised are your apps or folders?

Poor Mr A asked me to help him with an excel spreadsheet and then saw me twitching when I saw his desktop. My head could not comprehend having files scattered everywhere with no rhyme or reason. It would have been easier to cope with if he had been able to find what he was looking for easily but he couldn’t. So I “introduced” him to “sort by”. His fear was real, he thought it had all disappeared because now it was organised!
He is now referring to me as laptop saboteur! Drama queen.

My phone is organised by types of app. So for example amazon followed by a collection of shopping apps, Fitbit followed by a collection of fitness apps, kindle followed by reading apps etc.

This works for me. I do similar on my Mac desktop (but only for presentations).

I hear @mummy_barrow sorts her apps by colour (looks lovely) but what about you? How do you sort your phone and desktop?

Look what arrived.
This was my gift to myself for finally launching the podcast.
I had a few (set of 5) but then saw a larger range when in a zoom call with @chloeleibowitz (and other enablers).
#emottpens are just gorgeous - for writing, colouring, and anything #bujo related.
There is another layer behind the 20 you can see.
This #stationeryaddict is very happy ❤️
