Hello!

I'm Debs, and you've found my little corner of the internet

I am a happily married mum of three.

Our house is home to myself, my husband, three children and a huge variety of special educational needs and disabilities (ranging from severe visual impairment to autism, from speech and communication issues to dyspraxia and from osteoarthritis to vertigo) and it's also home to one very nutty dog who fits right in!

I try to keep it real, I don't pretend I have the perfect Instagrammable home life, work/life balance or eating habits. Like you, I have good days when motivation comes easily and days when just getting out of bed is an achievement.

Life is never ever dull!

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, please
feel free to leave your comments and thoughts.

New monthly layout for May. Late this month due to a bank holiday and a week of chaos.

Lots of space for to do, goals and reminders. A space for “waiting on” - the one thing we often forget to make a note of.

What’s your favourite thing to add into your Bullet Journal? The most useful thing?

Having everything in one place really makes me happy and getting everything out of my head is such a huge bonus for my mental health. When I’m thinking about what I need to do but don’t get round to writing it down, the list grows in size in my head. Anyone else?

Getting colour in my hair has lit a fire in me. After looking at pastel shades for the office, I’ve now decided to go bold! I have teal blinds and they need to stay so looking at colours that work with that.

Top to bottom - purple, golden sands, Blood orange and Valencia orange.

I could use one for a feature wall or do everything in one colour and then paint my desk another colour!

I wish you could see my husbands face right now. He’d have magnolia everything so this is out of his comfort zone 🤣🤣 but he’s happily painting the top two samples for me (because I couldn’t reach) ❤️❤️

The bottom orange 🍊 👌

I like the blood orange 🙂 Second from bottom

Orange. Absolutely orange. With purple desk.

Any of the bottom three zingers!

Mint macaroon 😂😂

Blood orange is great but i love turquoise with your chosen blind.

Either of the bottom two as they are opposites on the colour wheel

It’s an orange from Georgina and me 😂😘

You should find a way to incorporate all the colors. They all look so great

Blood Orange, it's a bit softer

You can add more tangerine and teal accents in the room x

Blood orange

Love the bottom orange!

I like the tangerine x

Orange orange orange

Teal is one of those colours that nothing seems to go with other than grey so cannot help.

Love the third one 💕

Who says turning grey and 50 has to be boring?

I’m loving my new peek-a-boo hair, spent the last half hour flicking my head from side to side like a L’Oréal advert 🤣

Sometimes chips on the beach, with a great friend, sitting in another friend’s beach hut is all it takes to have a fabulous day.

It was quite windy and it was a typical cold day in the shade type day but we put the world to rights, had a few giggles and a fabulous sausage bap with chips ❤️❤️

If anyone is interested, this gorgeous hut at Tankerton is available to hire, see @beachhutnumber30 for more details.

Huge thanks to @stevie_wisterialane for organising at last minute ❤️ @ Tankerton Beach

It’s a strange world we live in now. How did this become such a “norm”, something we expect to see when we arrive somewhere?

When I think about the changes we’ve had to go through and how we’ve coped, it always makes me think of how many times we’ve said in the past “I couldn’t cope with that”. It’s something many people have said about having children with a variety of SEN and Disabilities.

Lockdown, masks and hand sanitiser - all show us we are much better at adapting to change than we think. That’s not saying it’s a walk in the park, some changes have been a real struggle but as we start to see a light at the end of the tunnel, we’re all still upright.

What are you putting off doing because you’ve thought “I couldn’t do that, it involves too many changes”?

Did you know that during the Middle Ages, people believed that St George was one of the '14 Holy Helpers' – a group of saints who could help during epidemic diseases.

St George's protection was invoked against several diseases including the Plague and leprosy.

I didn’t know this.

How will you be celebrating St George’s Day?

When you run a workshop for a magazine and wake up to lots of positive messages.

This really helped me this morning. Had a bit of a rough few weeks and needed to pick myself up again. Several messages this morning really helped.

A huge thanks to all of you who took the time to get in touch. It was hugely appreciated and I’m so glad I was able to help on a small way.

PD - messages saying You are amazing and so encouraging and positive. Wishing you all the best. And your sense of humour is just super.

This.

I’m heart broken at the idea of her sitting alone without someone nearby to give her hand a squeeze and let her know she’s not on her own.

PD tweet saying : Irrelevant of your view of the Royal Family, I cannot imagine having to sit alone, in public view, grieving the man you have loved for over 70 years. #RoyalFuneral

If the Mersey overflows today,
we know the reason why.
Because all the people of Liverpool,
are not ashamed to cry.
Let us not forget them,
remember them with pride.
For we are one big family,
the pride of Merseyside! RIP 96,
